Stephanie Beeston

Steph started here at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in 1987, qualifying as a perfusionist two years later.

She is the appointed Education and Training Officer for the department. This means that Steph co-ordinates any trainee's academic and clinical work, giving support and encouragement and keeping records of progress.

Steph also looks after the continuous education of qualified staff, as perfusionists are required to keep abreast with new techniques and developments in order to re-register. This takes the form of attending seminars and lectures, both in-house and externally.

Not all hospital staff are familiar with the role and duties of a perfusionist so Steph often gives presentations on various aspects of perfusion.
